What is the Fulcrum Project?

Fulcrum Project is a clearing house for Jewish social media projects and Jewish institutions. The Fulcrum Project sources Jewish social media ventures globally  that attract unique users and create value-added offerings. The Project assists with strategy, development, evaluation, and ongoing effectiveness monitoring, and serves as a platform to leverage these ventures’ impact.

The Project essentially serves as a broker between Jewish entrepreneurial ventures and the Jewish establishment. These partnerships will offer established Jewish institutions an opportunity to expand their reach within the Jewish world and engage young Jews.

What is unique about Fulcrum Project?

Numerous Social Media projects are being launched by individuals and Jewish institutions around the world. We recognized that many of the projects are attempting to achieve the same goals- strengthening Jewish identity, maintaining the bonding after a Jewish inspirational experience or creating a forum for graduates of an educational program.

Fulcrum Project is the location, where social media projects can be listed and Jewish Institutions can search, for ideas or existing projects that they can develop, adopt or partner with. Fulcrum Project will also source Social Media projects engaging Jews around the world.

The Fulcrum Project team will also proactively attempt to match social media ideas and projects with Jewish institutions worldwide.

Who are the target audiences?

There are two primary target audiences.

Young entrepreneurs seeking to develop social media tools for Jewish engagement for their own communities, can utilize the Fulcrum Project to potentially address other Jewish populations  around the world.

Jewish organizations worldwide, will also approach the Fulcrum Project seeking Social media tools to provide a opportunity for Jewish engagement.

What Social Media projects or ideas can be listed on the Fulcrum Project site?

Any projects that seek  to engage Jews and potentially strengthen their Jewish identity are welcome.

Projects that enable quantifiable results will be highlighted. If your Social Media project is being featured on the site, and you are not satisfied with the description or tags, please contact us.

Quantifiable results?

The social media experience should lead  an individual to explore additional Jewish experiences (e.g. a Birthright trip, Moishes House etc etc) AND the website should monitor the through traffic.

The Global Need:

The trends of dwindling Jewish populations globally are well documented. Consequently, Jewish communities worldwide are seeking to engage their younger populations, who are all active in the Social Media realm. The Fulcrum Project seeks to provide a forum where the opportunity exists for social media tools developed for Jewish engagement, for example, in the USA, may have applications effective in Hungary. Alternatively, a tool that failed to achieve its goals in Western Canada, may be effective in Australia.

Archimedes, Fulcrum and Jewish engagement? What’s that about?

“Give me a fulcrum, and a place to stand—and I will move the world.” Archimedes

The most cost effective, available tool to engage young Jews is Social Media. Any effort to have a “face to face” interaction with young Jews must be prefaced, involve  and followed through with  social media. Fulcrum Project will provide the tools.

Who is backing Fulcrum Project?

At the moment we are flying solo, but we are seeking partners who can support the project and ensure that  an effective global dialog is achieved between the Jewish Establishment and developers of Jewish Social Media Projects. Our immediate goal is to make Fulcrum Project multilingual, to facilitate global sharing of social media ideas.

We also plan to launch a subscription based quarterly newsletter detailing the “hot” Jewish Social Media projects from around the globe.
